I was really unsure of what to write, and I’m not quite sure if this qualifies, but I’d assume so seeing as I obviously did not know it or else I wouldn’t of looked it up.
So I decided I wanted to know what the most common names of kids in America for the year of 2006 were. I didn’t expect there to be a list for 2007 seeing as the year has not ended yet so I opted for ‘06, but this list was update May 17, 2007 so these names are pretty recent. A couple of them surprised me I didn’t expect some of them to be on there, but it was pretty fun looking at them. The top 5 most common boy names were (in order): Jacob, Michael, Joshua, Ethan, and Matthew. The top 5 most common girl names were (in order): Emily, Emma, Madison, Isabella, and Ava. I’m sure everybody hears a lot of those names today, and have one person or maybe even two with those name’s in your class today. I found it pretty cool, so did a couple other people I told. Eventually a little debate, I guess you can call it, broke out upon the people when they disagreed with a name’s popularity.
